Thank you warlord. I am so pleased you liked this. I did the layering by hand, meaning I erased the background from the fisherman with the eraser. I don’t know a lot about photoshop yet so I go the long way around. I am so looking forward to learning so I can do so much more.

Great job for a first timer! I would consider playing with the burn tool or curves to make the layer with the fisherman have the same values as the background. The fisherman stands out quite a bit, which is good, but it looks a bit like he’s not supposed to be there… all he needs is some more shadows to match the background and he’ll look more natural. Other than that, great job and have fun with photoshop!

Thank you Cara. I am quite proud of myself for this. I know “where” the burn tool is but not how to use it effectively. But when I get CS3 you better look out! lol
