Educational Philosophy
The Brown College philosophy is to provide quality programs that are sound in concept, implemented by a competent and dedicated faculty, and geared to serve those seeking a solid foundation in knowledge and skills required to obtain employment in their chosen fields. The programs offered emphasize hands-on training, are relevant to employers’ needs, and focus on areas that offer strong, long-term employment opportunities.
To offer students the training and skills that can lead to successful employment, the college will:

- Select faculty with professional experience in the career areas in which they teach and with the ability to motivate students to develop to their greatest potential

Campus Facilities
Brown College is located in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, with a branch campus in Brooklyn Center. Both campuses are conveniently located close to major highways and have access to public transportation. Parking is available to students.
The Mendota Heights campus occupies an 18-acre site. The campus buildings provide more than 122,000 square feet of classroom, labs, studios and office space. Centralized student services include a Learning Resource Center, cafeteria and lounge space. The Library/Learning Resource Center provides access to computers, study space, laptop tables and printers. Students in Brown College’s technology programs have access to networking equipment, computer labs and software.
The College laptop center enables students to work on multiple projects from both school and home. Students in Brown College’s broadcasting programs receive hands-on training on equipment and software that is similar to industry standards. In Scott Studio,
Radio Broadcasting students use computerized screens to program operations. Television Production students have the opportunity to experience both linear and non-linear editing using Avid software.
The facilities and equipment of Brown College and its branch campus comply with federal, state and local ordinances and regulations, including those related to fire safety, building safety and health.
Approvals and Memberships
The college voluntarily undergoes periodic accrediting evaluations by teams of qualified examiners. These examiners include subject matter experts, specialists in occupational education, and professionals in private college administration.

- Accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
- Licensed to operate by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education Services Office.
- Eligible institution under the Federal Stafford Loan Program (FSL) and Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students(FPLUS).
- Eligible institution for Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Pell Grant and Federal Work-Study (FWS) programs.
- Eligible institution for Minnesota student grants and Student Education Loan Fund program (SELF).
- Authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.
- Approved for the training of veterans and eligible persons under the provisions of Title 38, United States Code.
- Provides training services for the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
